Call for Abstracts
PLEASE NOTE NEW SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Special Scientific Session focuses on hypothesis-driven original research. Reviews or interesting cases/case series should be submitted as an Electronic Exhibit.
Scientific paper presentations will take place during the Members' Meeting of the Annual Meeting of the International Skeletal Society (ISS) on Monday and Tuesday, September 24 and 25, 2018. The Special Scientific Session (SSS) is scheduled on Monday afternoon while the Breakout Scientific Session will take place during Tuesday’s lunch break.
Non-members of the ISS including residents or fellows in training (radiology, pathology, rheumatology, orthopedics, sports medicine, etc.) and applicants for membership to the ISS are all encouraged to submit abstracts. No need for ISS co-author involvement in the abstract.
The abstracts of the award winning papers of the Asian Musculoskeletal Society, the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology and the Society of Skeletal Radiology will be presented in the Special Scientific Session Program.
All abstracts will be scored blindly using the Skeletal Radiology electronic submission system by a panel of six experts in the field of Musculoskeletal Disease
Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts:
All abstracts must be submitted electronically The abstracts should have no more than 350 words. Abstracts longer than 350 words will be disqualified. The abstracts have to be structured with a Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Please make sure you receive a confirmation e-mail that your abstract has been submitted. Papers of accepted abstracts should be submitted to Skeletal Radiology for potential publication.Accepted scientific presentations will be scheduled either as an Oral Presentation or Electronic Poster. You may indicate your format preference in the “Presentation Type” tab on the submission site. Consideration will be given to your indicated preference; however, final decisions on format assignment will be at the discretion of scientific committee.Oral Presentations will require a 10-minute platform presentation during the Special Scientific Session during the Members’ meeting on Monday September 24 or a 5-minute short platform presentation on Tuesday September 25, 2018.Electronic Posters will be displayed as PowerPoint slide shows in PDF format during the annual meeting and do not require in-person attendance.The deadline for abstract submission is February 23, 2018 at midnight EST.The selection will be made in April 2018. The authors will be notified electronically immediately to allow time for travel arrangements.If your paper gets accepted as an oral presentation, you are welcome to attend the Members’ Meeting, Refresher Course and Welcome Reception with a special member’s registration rate of US $390. Accepted presenters may also attend the Gala for an additional fee.Presenters may be eligible for a travel grant. Please check the requirements on the Travel Grants page.
