ISS Rising Star Howard Dorfman Pathology Travel Fellowship - 2025

Inaugural Rising Star Sites and Dates

The inaugural visiting Rising Star Fellowship could include visits to one (preferable) or two universities and or Hospitals. If the Fellow selects one institution the maximum time they can spend there is 1.5 weeks. If the Fellow selects to visit two institutions,  the total fellowship should not be longer than 2 weeks.

Travel dates: unrestricted; to be agreed with host institution

Application Deadline: March 31st, 2025

Date for Fellowships: to be organized with host institution at mutually convenient date.

Award to contribute to travel (premium economy for long haul flights), accommodation and subsidence. Accommodation to be arranged by Fellow.

Rising Star Objectives

  • Develop the visiting pathology Fellow's clinical, or research and teaching skills through exposure to different practice patterns around the world
  • Connect the Fellows with internationally recognized musculoskeletal pathologists, molecular scientists, physicians, radiologists across the world
  • Prepare Rising Star Fellows for the challenges of leading and improving their specialty

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to ISS and non-ISS members
  • 3-10 years out of training
  • Clinical, Research and teaching experience in MSK pathology
  • Currently working in a different country from the selected institution
  • Willingness to give a brief presentation at the Annual Meeting of the ISS and produce a short report about the travel experience for Skeletal Radiology after the program
