Early-Career Membership
The Early-Career Membership is for faculty within five years of completing fellowship training and who demonstrate a strong interest in MSK medicine.
Eligibility:
- Faculty with a demonstrated interest and involvement in musculoskeletal medicine.
- Within five years of completing a musculoskeletal medicine fellowship (radiology, pathology, orthopedics, rheumatology, or related aligned discipline).
Early-Career Membership Benefits:
- Attend closed scientific sessions and the Refresher Course at the standard member rate.
- Engage in ISS committees and educational programming, where appropriate.
- Access mentoring and networking opportunities tailored to early-career development.
Membership Requirements:
- Application showing subspecialty training (fellowship)
- Two letters of recommendation by ISS members
- Minimum of 4 academic publications (first or senior author) related to musculoskeletal disorders. It is recommended that at least 2 of the 4 publications will be hypothesis-driven original research publications and at least 2 out of the 4 publications will be in English.
- One of the 4 publications can be substituted by a publication in an area related to non-interpretative skills (e.g. career development, leadership, education), or a lecture in the ISS Core Lecture Series, requiring review and acceptance by the Education Committee.
