Annual Member’s Meeting of the International Skeletal Society

 

Electronic Exhibit Abstracts

General Instructions:

The lead author must be the only corresponding author

At least one author must register for the ISS refresher course

Both ISS members and non-members may submit abstracts

Exhibits may be submitted in the following categories:

Scientific research papers

Educational & pictorial reviews

Technical reports & pilot studies

Case reports & case series

Exhibits Category Definition:

Scientific research:
Scientific articles in the format of hypothesis, methodology, results, conclusion & references

Educational/Pictorial review:
Educational articles on a topic with specific teaching points on radiological interpretation and patient management

Technical reports & pilot studies:
Short technical reports on new techniques in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
Small pilot studies with <20 subjects included in the study population.

Case reports & cases series:
Reports on rare conditions or descriptions of previously un-described radiological findings that is based on <20 subjects.

Abstracts must be submitted through the online abstract portal

Abstracts must be received by Friday February 24, 2017.

Announcements of approved abstracts will be made in April 2017.

All submissions must be HIPAA-compliant and patient confidentiality must be  protected. No patient names or other identifying information can appear in the presentation.

 Due to our blinded peer-review policy, the abstract cannot contain author names, institution names, location, or any information that may identify where the work originated.

Non-members of the ISS including residents or fellows in training (radiology, pathology, rheumatology, orthopedics, sports medicine, etc.) and applicants for membership to the ISS are encouraged to submit abstracts. No need for ISS co-author involvement in the abstract.

 

Scientific Presentation and Technical Innovation:
 
Scientific Presentations and Technical Innovations are focused on hypothesis-driven original research.
 
Accepted scientific presentations will be scheduled either as an Oral Presentation or Electronic Poster. You may indicate your format preference in the "Presentation Type" tab on the submission site. Consideration will be given to your indicated   preference; however, final decisions on format assignment will be at the discretion of scientific committee.

  • Oral Presentations will require a 10-minute platform presentation during the Special Scientific Session during the Members' meeting on Monday August 28 or Tuesday August 29, 2017.
  • Accepted oral presenters for the Special Scientific Session are welcome to attend the Members' Meeting, Refresher Course and Welcome Reception with a special member's registration rate of $390 USD.
  • Electronic Posters will be displayed as PowerPoint slide shows during the annual meeting and do not require in-person attendance. 

Educational Electronic Exhibits and Case Reports:

  • Education Electronic Exhibits and Case Reports are designed to teach or review radiologic signs, pathologic correlations, procedures, techniques, treatments, and interventions or other aspects related to the practice of musculoskeletal imaging and pathology. The Educational Electronic Exhibits and Case Reports will be displayed as PowerPoint slide shows during the annual meeting and do not require in-person attendance.

Presenters may be eligible for a travel grant.  Please check the requirements on the ISS website under the Meetings tab.
